The second leg of the annual Fine Wine Delivery Company Passion for Pinot Event kicked off in Christchurch with a bang. The weather in true Canterbury style was sensational and while some people may have been out enjoying the balmy 21/22dg weather our staunch Pinot fans showed their dedication to the variety in droves.
The International Tasting was again a huge success with a small but incredibly knowledgeable group of fans tasting through an intriguing collection of NZ and international wine from the 2006 vintage. The afternoon tasting showcased the impeccable quality of NZ Pinot Noir from the 2007 vintage with many Cantabrians enforcing this recognition with numerous positive comments regarding the quality of NZ Pinot as a whole. Following this massive Pinot event was dinner with the team from Saggio di Vino at their newly created venue out in Ferrymead, ‘Petrini’- a tad difficult to find, even the taxi drivers were struggling. Nevertheless as always, impeccable service, divine food and gob-smackingly good wine made for a fabulous night. Two down and one to go… bring on Auckland for the Grand Finale!
Cheers
