3 of the RAREST & Smallest production Prestige Red wines in the World - 60-Bottles each Allocated to NZ....

3 of the RAREST & Smallest production Prestige Red wines in the World... between 550-610 x 6-packs produced. NZ's allocation is just 60-bottles of each.

They are 3 of all time Cellar Bargains (quality v price) I have seen in 27-Years. If I had to pick just one of the 3... I'd struggle to separate them. JEFF

The most laboriously, fastidiously, passionately crafted, tiny production, Old-Ancient Bush Vine Red Wines Grown & Crafted anywhere in the world today. All attracting the attention & powerful ratings from leading Global critics, they are handcrafted with fruit from different high-altitude, dry grown vineyards in 'Calatayud' ... Spain's arid heartland.

Although different... they all have the ethereal textures & tannins found in the finest Barolos & Red Burgundies... only at just $99.99 bottle (all the same price) - you could buy 6-12 bottles of any of these 3 Reds for the price of 1-bottle of their Barolo & Burgundy quality counterparts.

They would all age beyond the 20-year mark if properly stored - and would likely be the smartest, greatest Cellar buy (quality v price) you might ever make.

Garnacha Tinta 90%, Other varieties 10% (Provechon, Garnacha Blanca)

"Torrijo de la Cañada was once a village that produced 3 million kg of grapes. Due to the remote nature of the village, almost all of the hillside vineyards have been lost to grubbing up in the last 70 years. The Mataquemada vineyard at 980m is situated on a base of decomposed schist/slate closer to the border with Castilla Leon than to Calatayud. It is one of only four remaining Garnacha vineyards in the municipality. In 2020 the harvest started on the 8th of September and finished with the Mataquemada parcel on the 3rd of October, 2 weeks earlier than the average in the last 20 years. The grapes were harvested into 20kg stored between 0 and 1 degrees in a cool room with controlled humidity. Fermented in an open top fermenter with 40% of whole bunches included in a layer cake fashion. Gentle punching down was applied once or twice only during a long, slow, soft fermentation after the grapes warm up from their cold soak. Afterwards we carried out a long maceration and malolactic fermentation took place on skins. After pressing the wine remained in two flex tank eggs for 11 months before bottling with minimal fining and filtration. “The wine is paler and more aromatic than any of its siblings, with a showy nose of balsam and cooking spices, nutmeg and Jamaica pepper… with tons of aromatic herbs and fennel… the combination of altitude, slate and slow ripening medium-bodied and has very fine grainy tannins. Very surprising and different… Super!"

El Escoces Volante Valdelabarga Parcelas Singulares 2020

Garnacha Tinta 85%, 15% a mix of Provechon & Macabeo

"Valdelabarga is a glacial plain composed of boulders and cantos situated between la Sierra de Armantes and Virgen de la Sierra in the heart of the Sistema Ibérico in the municipality of Torralba de Ribota at 680m. According to local folklore, the parcel changed hands for the price of a bull– Venta del Bravo. The parcel dates from 1941 based on government records, but its varietal mix of Garnacha Fina (approximately 85%) with a sprinkling of Provechon (Bobal), Macabeo and other minority varieties suggests an earlier planting date just after phylloxera ravaged Europe in the 1860s.It is an exception ‘lieu-dit’ with free draining soils with a capacity to always ripen and produce a Garnacha blend with ripe fruit and elegance. The grapes were harvested into 20kg stored between 0 and 1 degrees in a cool room with controlled humidity. Fermented in an open top fermenter with 15% of whole bunches included in a layer cake fashion. Gentle punching down was applied once or twice a day only during a long, slow, soft fermentation after the grapes warm up from their cold soak. Afterwards we carried out a long maceration, malolactic fermentation took place on skins. After pressing the wine remained in 5 x 500 litre Stockinger barrels for 12 months before bottling with minimal fining and filtration. Intense black cherry fruit mixes with subtle notes of nutmeg and allspice and an underlying creaminess from the Stockinger barrels. The wine shows perfect ripeness on the palate with abundant but fine tannins. Perfectly judged balance between complexity and charm. Very fine, pure and precise."

El Escoces Volante El Cismatico Old Vine Garnacha 2020

Garnacha Tinta 100%

"Traditionally the top wine of Norrel’s stable El Cismático is only produced in vintages with the correct conditions to make an Old Vine Garnacha with the capacity to age gracefully for years in bottle, gaining complexity along the way. The 2020 vintage is the first vintage where this wine has come solely from the Armantes vineyards: contiguous parcels planted between 1937 and 1942 situated at around 800m above sea level. Yielding a miniscule 1.1 tonnes per hectare Garnacha on these marl and limestone soils gives more exotic & ethereal elements and impart a precise and floral profile to the Garnacha grape with marked acidity and a low pH. Austere during fermentation and ageing but very rewarding with age. Despite being North-East facing, the parcels are normally harvested first. The grapes were harvested into 20kg cases and were stored between 0 and 1 degrees in a cool room with controlled humidity. Fermented together in an open top fermenter with 20% whole bunches included in a layer cake fashion. Gentle punching down was applied once or twice a day during a long, slow, gentle fermentation after the grapes warmed up from their cold soak. Afterwards we carried out a long maceration and malolactic fermentation took place on skins. After pressing the wine remained sur lie in second use 500 litre, fine-grained French oak barrels for 13 months."
