This month is all about the ancient grape Pinot Noir. Early records trace it back to 1st century Burgundy, at least. But it's not just its rich history that has made it so famous, some of the most expensive wines on the planet are made from Pinot, and it provides the elegance and red fruit flavours for our much loved Champagne Wines.
And perhaps more famously, it's known for its fickle nature!
Pinot comes with its own set of unique challenges. Difficult to grow - relying on a very precise terroir, and finicky during the winemaking process too. But it is a very special grape, worth persevering with for its incredibly complex flavours and its elegant nuances.
No other grape tells a story of place quite like Pinot can, and so we have hunted high and low to find you a stunning selection of wines that showcase each of our top Pinot Regions - Martinborough, Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury and Central Otago.
There's a wonderful array of vintages here, with a few from 2018 which are drinking beautifully now with some bottle age on them, and then we hit the golden trifecta of 2019, 2020, and 2021. Three stellar back to back vintages, and some of our most highly rated years of the past decade!
