THE WORLD'S No.1 SPARKLING SHIRAZ - 128 YEARS IN THE MAKING!

They're always trying to lay claim to OUR good stuff, but there's one thing that's absolutely 100% Australian, and that's Sparkling Shiraz! Moreish, versatile, decadent and rich, it's truly an experience in itself and if you haven't tried it yet, then you should start with the best...

Seppelt have been producing Sparkling Shiraz since 1893, and have carved out a niche reputation for themselves with a long history of show successes. First they craft a great Shiraz, which then goes through a secondary fermentation in the bottle - methode traditionelle, the same process as Champagne. The result is a complex, rich, chocolate and spice decadence, perfect for any occasion!

James Halliday refers to them as "Australia's best producer of Sparkling Shiraz", and gave this Original Sparkling Shiraz a 94/100. In 2019 World-Renowned Sparkling Specialist Tyson Stelzer awarded this wine 'Best Sparkling Wine of the Year Under $30'. Add to that a Champion Wine of the Show Trophy and a Gold Medal to boot ... it's reputation is rightly deserved.

Sadly through a change of distributor here in NZ, we were unable to get this top selling customer favourite for several years. But our constant requests were kindly answered by the good folk at Seppelt, and now we import this direct from the winery exclusively here in NZ.

Now made in a Non Vintage style... they add older vintages to the final blend prior to secondary fermentation to add complexity and richness. The ultimate in decadent bubbles served lightly chilled in Champagne flutes. The black fruit, spice and chocolatey richness are irresistible and hugely versatile matched with meats through to rich desserts like plum or cherry clafoutis, fruit cake, chocolate, dried fruits and roasted nuts.

Sparkling Shiraz is a must try wine experience in our books, and Seppelt Original offers unrivalled quality for just $21.99.

Description

Sparkling Shiraz, perhaps one of the seven wonders of at least the wine world. Unique to Australia but I have tasted a sparkling Pinot Noir from Burgundy once, a very rare find. Seppelt is infamous for having mastered this unique wine style, consistently producing amazing examples that are a must try for those of you who love rich, ripe full-bodied Shiraz and where the bubbles add a delicious creamy texture. The perfect match for roast turkey at Christmas, or any Champagne breakfast. Unique, different but delicious and everyone will love it.

Smells

Dark berry fruits, Doris plums with red and black liquorice and hints of coconut, vanilla and baking spices.

Tastes

Generous plump fruit instantly satisfies the palate, balanced by chalky, mouth-coating tannins, taming the fruit, giving a salivating texture combined with the creamy mousse. Dark and red fruit flavours are interwoven with cinnamon, nutmeg and a dash of fennel. Great length, persistence and ultimately drinkable. Drink today, too yummy to resist.
