Belfast 1912 Cask Gin

Gorgeous, sophisticated Northern Irish gin with a Titanic-related backstory to match its heavenly and smooth flavours!

Description

A Northern Irish gin with a great back-story... the recipe for Belfast Gin was found behind an old mirror when Ian Killen moved house. It was inside a newspaper dated 16 April 1912, detailing the tragic sinking of an unsinkable ocean liner, the Titanic. At the time, Belfast was the global epicentre of great engineering and the gin is an homage to the town and this period. The original gin was distilled by Belfast's Avoniel Distillery from 1882 to 1929, and the golden propeller on the label contains both ships blades and those of a flying boat, a total tribute to Belfast's golden age of propeller-driven transport. The gin itself is a pot still, triple-grain gin, and the distillers describe it as having a: "supremely smooth and intense gin botanic, triple distilled malted and unmalted multi grain spirit infused with carefully sourced botanicals." It's a cracking gin with a Belfast accent, superb with a splash of Fever Tree tonic.
