It is not simply a darker version of Black Label, for it cannot be defined by colour alone. Nevertheless, the two blends are intrinsically linked. As any discriminating drinker can see, they share DNA - in their smoky nose, unmistakable spice and slight tones of dried fruit.
Smells
smoky, vanilla with hints of tar, citrus and malty nuances underpinned by medicinal aromas
Tastes
Excellent weight on the palate with a creamy texture and a true malty core. Lashings of peat smoke, hints of wood smoke, salty butter, cereal grains and apple custard. The palate is long finishing with a sweetness, peppery spice and a cool smoke note.
