Description

".The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Latour exhibits a strong cassis character intermixed with notes of crushed rocks, earth, cedar, and forest floor. Racy, elegant, but powerful with medium to full body, and sweet tannin, it will benefit from 5-7 years of cellaring (to 2014), and should keep for three decades. It is a very impressive offering." Robert Parker

"Captivating aromas of currant, black liquorice and spices, with just a hint of sweet tobacco. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, long finish. Structured and racy. Best after 2011." Wine Spectator

"Deep dense colour, concentration of leafy blackcurrant fruit, succulent and full of flavour, quite approachable crunchy gourmand fruit, backed by a precise, crystal-clear expression of vineyard length, big wine but no hint of heaviness, superb structure and balance, triumphantly successful. Drink 2015-50." Decanter

"Deep garnet and so utterly different from the Lafite - richer and sweeter and spicier, including the sweetness of chocolate and mocha. Utterly seductive aroma still showing the outline of cassis. Rich and velvety on the palate, too. Such a contrast to the Lafite - and more upfront. The finish is gentle and persistent even though the tannins are still al dente at the end." JancisRobinson.com
