Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon is named after Peter Lehmann, who mentored so many young winemakers in his lifetime in the Barossa. Mentor is an expression of the oldest vine Cabernet, cropped very low and aged in French oak... it is always the absolute expression of quality and varietal integrity of the Barossa. 2020 was an outstanding vintage expected to cellar 20 years.
Smells
Chocolate over top of cassis, mint, violet, leather, graphite, and pencil shavings.
Tastes
Deep, dark, and brooding with big, firm tannins, this wine has pure blackcurrant flavours that carry the spicy finish. A dense, compact wine and with just one sip, it makes you go wow……. It’s big and juicy and if you love big Aussie reds, this is for you. Enjoy through 2035+.
