99 Points by Suckling, did I read that right!!!!!!! Let me at it now….. Oh and ranked No.22 in his Top 100 wines of 2021. Ok now I really want it! An estate owned by the Moretti Cuseri family since the 1950s, located in Chianti between Arezzo and Florence. An IGT, Super Tuscan from Central Tuscany consisting of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, fermented on skins for 25 days and aged in French oak for 18 months. It all sounds amazing, but travel is out of the question also!!! Since I cannot travel, however, at least I can afford one bottle…
Smells
an opulent bouquet with a myriad of aromas, ripe berries, milk and dark chocolate, black liquorice, fennel seeds, violets, rose petals, hints of graphite, with nuances of balsamic.
Tastes
a captivating wine, rich in structure, decisive and dynamic. Full-bodied with firm, silky tannins that are incredibly polished, poised, and intense. Combine all of that with finesse and a refinement that builds and builds to a crescendo, long and satisfying to the final sip. One of the best modern-day Orenos, drinking well from 2026 onwards.
