Description
Earlier this year we purchased a pallet of Chemin Crozes Hermitage that had won a “Platinum Best in Show” (Top 50 Wines of the World from 18,000 plus global entries) at Decanter World Wine Awards in London. Regrettably, our pallet was sold elsewhere in error before shipping, we received a genuine apology from the winery. Our disappointment is somewhat assuaged by the supply of a couple of pallets of their beautifully ripe, luscious 2022 vintage Chemin Côtes du Rhône offered at an exceptional price. Côtes du Rhône is infectious with FWD red wine drinkers… it’s style, structure, flavoursome palate, exceptional value, and heritage… all having great appeal. 2022 is a lovely vintage (96/100 in the Northern Rhone) and Chemin make moreish Rhône Reds of outstanding value v quality! Enjoy through 2027.
Smells
Aromas of violets, sun-drenched red berry fruits, baking spice, sandalwood, baked red earth, and a pinch of sea salt.
Tastes
The palate simply cuddles and caresses with its plush juicy red berry fruits winning over your tastebuds in seconds. As it wends its way across your palate tastes of milk chocolate, sandalwood and baking spice add to its charm. A mix of firm tannins and juicy rounded acidity balance its structure and drinkability… and will enhance longevity. The finish is tinged with warm liquorice, somewhat Pastis-like, delicious on every level. Drinking now through 2027 and perfect at every BBQ.
