Description

A collaboration between English Master of Wine David Gleave and Matt Thomson, this hillside vineyard is named after Tom Hatter, a notorious local character from the early 20th century. With a highest point of 175 metres above sea level, the wines have always had X Factor, winning the Air NZ Champion Pinot with just their second vintage. Drink now or cellar a few bottles for best results. |

Smells

Immediately charming from the first sniff, it's all the red fruit and spicy florals that Marlborough does so well, a classy whiff of cured meat and rosemary really appeals.

Tastes

Plump and very fine in the mouth, a nice French oak quality supports the juicy mid-palate, the whole package utterly seamless and very long. A Pinot from the top drawer with plenty of sneaky power for such a silky wine, it will be at is best between now and 2023.
