Description

Two Degrees Vineyards is one of the last vineyards in the Cromwell basin, before the vines give way to farmland on SH6 to Wanaka. Indeed, it's to Wanaka where they head to have their grapes made into pristine Pinot Noir by Wanaka power couple Sarah Kate and Dan Dineen at Maude. The results must be tasted to be understood, and the latest vintages confirm their status as one of NZ's true up-and-comers - further proof shown by a second Champion Pinot Noir at the Royal Easter Show Wine Awards in 2018 (to go with their earlier one in 2016).

Smells

A delicate and ethereal bouquet of rose petals, anise, plum, cherry and pencil shavings.

Tastes

Silky, fine and succulent, this is a Pinot Noir that's about beauty rather than in your face power. The long, complex finish sneaks up on you and reminds you why this Pinot is so highly regarded. Already voted Best in Show at the Easter Show, this 2016 vintage will be fascinating to watch evolve over the next 5-8 years.
