Description

Turkey Flat is an Australian winery located in Tanunda, in the middle of South Australia's Barossa Valley wine-growing region. It is described by wine expert Oz Clarke as one of the "cult wines" of Australia. Some of their Shiraz vines were planted in 1847. That's the same year Johann Gramp of Gramp's Orlando (now Jacob's Creek) and Joseph Gilbert of Pewsey Vale planted their first vines. Hill of Grace was planted a year later. Just to put it in perspective, they are some seriously old vines and a long history of winemaking, no wonder Oz Clarke loves them.
Their rose is made from grenache grapes, in an aromatic, fruity and dry style.

Smells

sun baked strawberries, floral perfumed notes of rose petals with cinnamon and whole nutmeg aromas.

Tastes

generous rounded fruit on the entry, typical of Grenache, with soft acidity. This wine is all about the fruit flavours, strawberries, candyfloss and sherbet, the creamy texture and the warm, long finish. Drink today with sun ripened strawberries and cheese.
