La Turque is grown on the steep slopes of Cote Brune and from vines with an average age of 25 years, 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier and in very close proximity to La Landonne. La Turque is perhaps considered by some to sit in the middle of the other two La La wines, it has dark fruit and more robust than La Mouline but not as powerful or tannic as La Landonne. Having said that trying any of the La La wines is an honour, a privilege, and an experience not to be sniffed at lightly. I would be jumping in, boots and all. A once in a lifetime experience.

a heady bouquet of blackberry, morello cherry with a floral lift of violets, red and black liquorice, and dark spice.

the attack is supple with a deep, dark concentrated core of fruit with fine grain, and elegant tannins. There is a fluidity to this wine consistent with the feminine touch of the Cote Blonde even though it comes from Cote Brune. The flavours are endless with notes of espresso, black olives, baked cherries, and hints of black truffle tightly wound throughout the core. A powerhouse of a wine. A wine that should drink well for at least two decades.
