Description

Sacred Hill Deerstalkers gets its name from the former occupants of the vineyard, the local deer hunters club who got themselves a brand new clubhouse in Bridge Pa as part of the land deal. Wine drinkers should be just as chuffed, since this is one of New Zealand's finest Syrahs, that as luck would have it, also happens to be the perfect match for venison! The 2015 presents as a prettier style, with more emphasis on the floral and spice notes, its charm easy to appreciate right from release. With only 283 dozen made, you'll need to stalk your case quickly and quietly!

Smells

An exotic and pretty nose showing eastern spices, clove, florals, plums, violet and boysenberry.

Tastes

Beautifully detailed and subtly powerful, this is classic Gimblett Gravels Syrah made with a light touch perfectly suited to the style. At its best around 2020, this will be cracking with venison backstrap or other game meats between now and 2025.
