This 2019 White Bones Chardonnay has scored 99/100 from James Suckling and 98/100 from The Wine Advocate… Impressive to say the least. The Catena family have been growing and making wine in the foothills of the Andes, Mendoza for over four generations, again impressive. The Andrianna vineyard is located at about 1520metres, and again it has to be said, impressive, considering that it is nearly halfway up Mt Cook. At this height, the nights are cool, with a large diurnal fluctuation (the difference between day and night temperatures), combined with the calcareous soils, result in nothing less than a sensational wine.

A heady bouquet of red apples, pears, with notes of brioche, chalk, salt, and a toasty vanilla thread.

Rich, exuberant and a wine that completely seduces within seconds. Full bodied, dense whilst still being lively, and energetic thanks to the crystalline, acid thread that weaves it magic throughout. A wine that engages, captivates, holds your attention and commands more. Completely irresistible but it will cellar 4-5 years. Served with rich pasta or white roasted meats.
