Description

As with good vineyard age you’re really starting to see additional complexity and structure emerge in this 2021 Pinot Noir, it’s the magical mix between early drinkability and structural integrity for the cellar. A very good season ending abruptly with uncharacteristically overcast days with the onset of picking approaching, this made for a very compact harvest, but insured that optimal fruit was harvested. Mt Difficulty were in good shape however, producing one of the finest estate wines we've ever tasted.

Smells

Dark cherry fruit and toasty, spicy oak, hints of dried thyme and gentle floral notes rounding out a very complete and harmonious bouquet.

Tastes

Silken and very concentrated on the palate, an array of black and red fruits lend complexity further strengthened by incredible structure and integrity. A classic vintage of a NZ classic, enjoy this between now and 2029+
