Description
Few wine lovers would realise that some of NZ's finest Chardonnay is grown a mere stone's throw from Auckland International Airport, on the volcanic clay soils of Ihumatao Road in Mangere. As hard as it is to get your head around, this 2022 is a real belter - massively concentrated yet light on its feet, with layers and layers of flavours unfurling in the mouth. The 2020 was one of the top Chardonnays in the Fine Wine Delivery Co Chardonnay Selection. And we are sure the 2022 will follow hotly in the footsteps of the 2020. Bob Campbell scored the 2020, 96points. And note the styley new labels.
Smells
Suggestions of white peach, nectarine, and nougat, with freshly toasted nuts, almond meal, and spice.
Tastes
Biscuity nougat and fresh spiced peach, with a creamy texture allied to mouth-watering stone fruit acidity. Complex and gorgeous, with hints of Jasmine and shortbread through the finish, this is benchmark Chardonnay from one of NZ's top producers. Drinking well now through 2028 and an ideal partner with your pork or chicken dishes.
