Today was a free day and most were headed out around Healdsburg which is a very attractive town, lots of great food places and good shopping too, if that's your wish! Andrew Bagnall and Royce Everett headed out to visit a couple more wineries and Rex Howe, Graham Mackinlay (GP), Craig King and I headed for a round of golf at Northwood course, half an hour's drive away.
Northwood was a different experience, 9-holes (play it twice) set amongst a mature forest of redwood trees, it was gorgeous on the eye!! Although a little shorter it was still quite challenging as the fairways were largely very tightly lined with, what else… redwood trees. The weather has been perfect, blue skies, barely a cloud and the heat is dry. GP and I won the day, but only at the 18th after a great tussle. A lovely restful day off in a beautiful place, Virginia and I will find somewhere nice to enjoy a quiet dinner tonight, before resuming tomorrow with a much-anticipated visit to Chalk Hill winery.
