Like many other high-quality Irish whiskeys of great beauty and elegance this national treasure is triple distilled, which gives it a characteristic sophisticated smoothness. It is an expensive process when compared to the Scottish method of double distillation. However, the reward is that it has led this masterclass Irish Whiskey to many important international awards, like the Trophy for Best Irish Single Malt at the 2007 World Whiskies Awards. Matured for 10 years in the finest Oloroso Sherry barrels and finest American Bourbon barrels. The colour is a delicate Celtic gold.
