Description
Pernod Ricard have partnered with Champagne House G.H.Mumm to make Mumm Marlborough Brut NV and its proving to be a fine partnership indeed. This new entry to the market scored in the Top 5 Methode Traditionelle in the 2020 Cuisine tasting. It has been said many a time, that NZ should be renowned worldwide for its sparkling wines as it is for our Sauvignon Blanc. With wines like this, the word will travel quickly, and we will gain prestige on the world stage for our sparkling wines as well, watch this space. Made in the traditional manner and composed of a blend of 46% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay and 9% Pinot Meunier.
Smells
notes of fresh fruit (pear, apricot, peach, and citrus) dominate, complemented by aromas of honey and biscuit.
Tastes
after a frank and lively attack, fresh fruit notes permit a beautiful balance on the palate. A tense and attractive structured finish, with a creamy mid-palate texture due to lees ageing. Delicious drinking now through 2023 by itself, or with cheese or oysters.
