Description
Oloroso sherry is aged oxidatively, as opposed to under yeast layer of flor, the dark colour coming from exposure to oxygen.
Smells
Dried fruit up front, almost raisiny, with oxidative nutty notes of chopped almonds in behind.
Tastes
Briny and smoky with lovely toasty flavours and nutty with just a hint of sweetness to the finish, which is more apparent than actual, since the wine is bound to be bone dry. A superb wine that can be kept open in the fridge for up to 2 months after opening.
