Description
The iconic Australian viticulturist Bob Newton joined forces with the indefatigable John Forrest to develop one of the Gimblett Gravels most renowned vineyards in 1990. In the ensuing years, the wine has become legend, a Cabernet, Merlot and Malbec blend of would command $100s if labelled from Bordeaux.
Smells
A classic Cabernet led bouquet of cassis, currants, cedar, summer plums and violet florals.
Tastes
Juicy, vibrant and still very youthful at 4 years of age, it has a solid tannic structure to go with an array of black and red fruits, the finish elegant and lingering. Best from 2020, or enjoy now with 2 hours in the decanter, this is a classic vintage of a classic wine of New Zealand... Take your opportunity and stock up!
