2023 Grove Mill Wairau Valley Pinot Noir

Choice is skinny in the $15-$20 Pinot Noir category... although the Grove Mill often sells above $20! We’re growing choice, keeping this Treble Gold Medal Pinot under $20 as long as we can.

Description

Luscious, flavoursome, fruity & fresh... Grove Mill’s Wairau Pinot Noir is a great fit to FWD shelves on both quality and ethos. Their respect for the environment and especially wetlands is second to none. Their label speaks of the special insects and animals that inhabit these unique parts of our countryside. Their ethos includes the use of solar power, supporting a Nurtured Wetlands Program, using recycled NZ glass bottles and labels made from sugarcane. That is doing a whole lot of good for our environment and reducing their impact on the planet. All kudos to them and we need to support those who are trying to preserve our home and natural habitats. However, it would be easy to support these guys on quality and pure value alone! It exudes purity of flavour and energy throughout the palate that speak of its pristine environment. Enjoy its luscious youthful freshness; it has enough complexity and structure to drink nicely for 3-5 years… but at the fantastic price its irresistible regular drinking.

Smells

Lovely bright aromas of ripe boysenberry and cherry, with a subtle array of spice and fine cedar.

Tastes

Excellent concentration… with luscious red & dark berry and cherry fruits with floral characters nicely contrasted by spice, earth and toast complexities. With sleek tannins and a fresh, uplifting finish this is a hugely enjoyable Pinot noir and 10/10 value.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
