Squawking Magpie latest releases have made a mighty impact recently, this Stoned Crow 2019 Syrah was awarded a high hitting 96points by Andrew Caillard MW, and 1 of 5 Syrah’s selected in the 2019 Gimblett Gravels Annual Vintage Selection, oh and the Top 3rd Syrah in the Cuisine Syrah Tasting 2021. Impressive record to date. Need less to say, it wont last because everyone will be scrambling to secure some. Don’t delay or you might just miss out on trying one of the best 2019 Hawkes Bay Syrah. Oh and did we mention that 2019 is perhaps the vintage of the century to date..

aromas of dark berry fruits, red and black plums, white pepper, sage with dried herbs and fennel notes with nuances of milk and dark chocolate, interwoven with toasty, vanilla, barrel char.

The palate has abundant, unctuous fruit, full of blackberry, raspberry, mulberry, and cranberry flavours with complexing notes of pepper, bracken, and a briary vein. A wonderful interplay of juicy fruit, finely knitted, grainy tannins with a long, chalky, mineral finish. Delicious drinking as it’s hard to resist but will drink well through 2027. Serve with grilled or roasted red meats.
