Description
One of New Zealand's most famous Chardonnays, it has been designated a Classic Wine of New Zealand by veteran wine scribe Michael Cooper. A big and full oak matured style, there is lots of complexity, lots of body and lots to love. And thankfully for our long-established fans, it still remains as good as ever and true to style.
Smells
Big golden colour in the glass matches the big oaky nose - with lots of rich, smoky oak aromas, mingling with brioche, hazelnut, peach, butterscotch, and vanilla.
Tastes
Creamy and rich with smoky, toasty oak and all the yummy, nutty, winemaker influences of lees and MLF, the finish is layered and long with serious nuance and a fresh but creamy persistence. Exceptionally well balanced for such a big style, Coopers Creek Swamp Reserve is a benchmark Chardonnay that is at its best up to 6 years from vintage. Serve with pasta or your favourite white meats. For optimal drinking pleasure, the recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
