Day 3 - Rest day on the beautiful par 3 Chardonnay course

This was a free day in Napa, so everyone headed in their own directions. Virginia, me, Rex & Cath Howe, Graham Mackinlay, Craig King and Roy & Nina Grant all headed out for a game of golf at the Chardonnay GC around 15-minutes out of Napa Township. As the name suggests… the course transverses a large acreage of vines, making it both interesting and easy on the eye.

Post golf we returned to Napa where Virginia and I locked ourselves away to catch up on some tour blogging and tour organizational work. Being a free day/night, everyone made their personal arrangements for dinner and there are plenty of fine restaurants in Napa Township, many within a few hundred metres of our hotel. So, it should have been no surprise that 13 of our 17-strong tour group, found ourselves turning up for dinner at a very highly recommended Japanese Restaurant, where the food was stunning and the service excellent. The wine list was nicely complimentary to the cuisine and we selected a lovely single vineyard Chardonnay and a quite voluptuous, but stylish Zinfandel to enjoy… a lovely end to a very relaxing day.
