Fortified Wine refers to a wine that has a spirit added to preserve it. But this centuries old method of fortified wine production has since become an art, with many styles sought after the world over and capable of commanding top dollar for collectors. Fortified wines include Sherry, Port, Madeira, Marsala and technically some wine based Vermouth.
