Description
A touch more gentle on the peat than what is usual with Laphroaig, there are generous layers of fruit, vanilla, peat, spice, and nuttiness all coming through. This is all to do with the combination of 6 (seriously!) different types of casks, all married together to create one harmonious blend at one ridiculous price.
Smells
the peat is evident albeit a little more subtle, allowing the green fruits, lemon, apples and mint to shine.
Tastes
Sweet fruit, barley sugars and chocolate flavours give way to the characteristic peat and iodine notes, supported by dark spices and woody notes right through the palate.
