Description
The Champagne house of Charles de Cazanove seems to have become a leading player in the Champagne market overnight, but in reality, they have been toiling at their craft for over 200 years. Established in Reims in 1811, they are 100% family-owned by the 4th generation of winemakers, the Rapenau family. Their Chef de Cave, Christophe Rapenau, won the much-heralded Sparkling Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge 2017. Needless to say, he has crafted an amazing wine here, with over 7 years on lees it should be commanding double if not quadruple the price! Limited stocks are available though, so get in quick.
Smells
Toasted hazelnut and fresh brioche meld seamlessly with lemon zest.
Tastes
A rich palate, candied lemon and orange peel, brioche, and toasted nuts complimented by tangy acidity. Drink now with snapper in a lemon butter sauce or asparagus with Hollandaise sauce.
