"The first rosé method from Quartz Reef, (Lot LR2008) made from 89% Pinot Noir and 11% Chardonnay fermented to 12.5% alc. with a dosage of 5 g/L, aged 24 months on lees and disgorged in September 2010. This has a very attractive pale cerise-pink colour and persistent, fine bubbles. The bouquet has beautifully fresh strawberry aromas with red cherry and floral rose nuances allied to excellent brioche autolysis notes. Dry on palate, this has pronounced soft red fruit flavours, very much Pinot Noir in expression, sweet and lush, the richness lending a rounded texture. Excellent autolysis backs the fruit. This is a full, but fresh and racy rosé with serious presence that will be versatile with food. 18.5-/20 - Raymond Chan.
