Description
The Grgich Hills Yountville vineyard forms the core of their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, with grapes from Rutherford and Calistoga vineyards rounding out the blend. Certified organic, they farm without artificial pesticides or herbicides, the result is a full-bodied, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon with pure flavours and a pronounced sense of place. The 2018 vintage was a bountiful vintage marked by cool, consistent temperatures and a timely rainfall for bud break in March and April.
Smells
An intense nose of dark berry fruit, black current, plum, with an undertone of lavender and allspice.
Tastes
Rich and velvety on the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits full and smooth tannins, yet maintains a youthfulness. Plum and cassis emerge on the palate carried by undertones of rhubarb and hints of nutmeg. Enjoy with red meat now with decanting, but it will cellar until 2030+.
