Villa Maria Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot from the 2019 vintage was officially one of the warmest summers on record. This provided red varietals superb conditions for ripening. Picking commenced early March given these usually later ripening red varieties were at optimum ripeness so were harvested under blue skies. This is a ripe, robust Cabernet Merlot with great ageing potential.

Classic Cabernet with black & red fruit, dried herbs, savoury flavours and fine cedary oak delivered with superb energy across the palate. The composition of fine grain tannins and salivating acidity ensure a stylish and lengthy transition from go to whoa. This wine will benefit from a further 3-5 years ageing… already 5-years it is becoming nicely rounded in the glass. We suggest you decant before serving to optimise this superb red.
