Description
Unbelievable $10.99 Export Surplus CLEARANCE! You cannot normally experience red wines made this well for a paltry $10.99, so generously flavoured with depth & complexity. “Paltry” is described as “Trivial or Trifling” in Thesaurus. $10.99 is not a paltry amount to most people in these tough times! But paying $10.99 for a red wine with so much quality on offer and 10-years of winery aging, as opposed to the plain, often sugary red wines you find in supermarkets at $10.99, it is a paltry price to pay. Made with “MINIMAL WINEMAKING INTERVENTION”. As you get to the 2nd half of the bottle you will find wine sediment appearing in your glass… the result of minimal filtration pre-bottling to maximise the retention of fruit character… a process normally reserved for premium red wines. It tells you your drinking higher quality wine. With all aged quality wines… I pour it into a jug, rinse the bottle to remove sediment, then pour it back into the bottle through a sieve/strainer to capture the remaining sediment. The sediment is not in anyway harmful and can be swallowed if you so desire. 10-year-old Hawke’s Bay Merlot dominant Red from the superb 2015 vintage drinking magnificently right now… the aging has been done by the winery; you get to buy it at a nominal $10.99! This Wild Rock Hawke’s Bay Red is mostly exported. Here is the winery tasting note… “Our Merlot dominant blend is grown in the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District located on the ancient bed of the Ngaruroro River which changed course in 1867 to expose soils for possible cultivation. Darkest red with purple hues. Vibrant nose of cassis, violets, boysenberry and the finest toasted oak. A richness of fruit emerges on first taste with beautifully integrated oak and fine dusty tannin creating a long and delicious finish.” Buy with 100% confidence (also backed by our 28-year industry benchmark 30-day money back Guarantee) and make this your regular house Red at home… exponentially raise the quality and maturity of your mid-week drinking for just $10.99 bottle. At its zenith now and through the next 12-months.
Smells
Lovely smoky plummy and berry aromas rise from the glass, with a whiff of black olive, woodsmoke, graphite and leather.
Tastes
Supple and energetic, laden with black plum and berries, the tannins are soft and fine, the palate has excellent persistence throughout. A very serious red wine for the price, it will quickly become everyday drinking for red lovers everywhere. It has remarkable density and character for such a modestly priced wine and is quite fresh for a 10-year aged Red! Drink now with any cut of red meat and with aged cheddar, Gouda, Manchego etc.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
