Description
After more than two decades of experimental research, Poggio alle Mura was born. A selection of the best parcels of fruit from terroirs with a good incline, and the perfect soil composition identified as the most suitable for Sangiovese. Combine that with the use of hand selection and technological innovation and the result is nothing short of breath-taking. Estate-bottled from the splendid sun-drenched vineyard adjacent to the Castello. Aged in 40% French oak casks (90-60 hl.) and 60% in French oak barriques (350 l.) for 2 years.
Smells
On the nose there are hints of coffee and pipe tobacco accompany the fruity aromas of blackberry and plum jam together with a spicy note on the finish.
Tastes
A complex and elegant Brunello, the perfect expression of an exceptional vintage. In the mouth, the roundness of the structure is perfectly balanced by soft and ripe tannins.
