Description
The Catena family has been a pioneer in Argentina's wine industry for over a century, establishing themselves as one of the nation's most prestigious and influential producers. Their wines are celebrated for their character and exceptional value, thanks in part to the high-altitude vineyards and pure snowmelt water that provide the perfect conditions for growing top-quality grapes. The Alamos Malbec is a prime example of their craftsmanship—full-bodied, rich, and expressive. This vibrant Malbec pairs beautifully with BBQ meats or can be enjoyed as an easy, crowd-pleasing BYO option, making it a versatile choice for a variety of occasions.
Smells
Showing plenty of extraction, yet with abundant juicy fruit aromas of blackberry, blueberry, green acorns, and sweet/spicy oak.
Tastes
Bold flavours of blackberry, plum, smoky oak, and liquorice, with a hint of raspberry, coffee, and mocha on the full-flavoured finish, with a just a lick of oak. Great drinking now, generous, and round with silky smooth tannins, coating the cheeks, giving balance, structure and a moreish character. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
