Description

While GSM blends are common across South Australia, few are crafted using the traditional and time-honoured method of co-fermentation via field blend. This standout example comes from a single vineyard in Gomersal, with 80% Grenache, 15% Shiraz, and 5% Mataro all picked and fermented together. The result is a beautifully harmonious wine where the varieties are seamlessly integrated—Grenache brings vibrant red fruit and perfume, Shiraz adds depth and spice, and Mataro contributes structure and savoury complexity. Co-fermentation ensures a perfect union, both aromatically and on the palate, creating a wine that’s greater than the sum of its parts. Rich, expressive, and utterly drinkable.

Smells

The nose shows perfectly ripe black doris plums, cassis and with hints of dried woody herbs.

Tastes

the palate has lovely fine tannins and a soft red raspberry and plum fruit spectrum with a red liquorice sweetness on the palate, the garrigue characters of the Southern Rhone coming through on the long, soft finish. A very charming and complete wine, it will be good for the mid-term in the cellar too through 2028 and made for your favourite BBQed meats. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
