Description
Small volume, organic Tempranillo, and as far as we know Central Otago’s only, grown in their Trig Hill vineyards. A cooler climate style, Rock Ferry uses a mixture of new and seasoned French oak puncheons to ensure that the grapes are not clouded by too much oak.
Smells
Fresh cherry and boysenberry with hints of earth and spice. Totally beguiling.
Tastes
A very fine palate, more red berries with plums and toasted hazelnuts. The tannins are super fine while the acidity is still fresh. Long finish. Showing a superb savoury complexity, consistent with a few years bottle age, making for a delicious drinking wine now but could age until 2027+. Enjoy with herb-crusted lamb or other roasted meats or serve with cured meats and cheese.
