Description
A classic Rioja produced by the famous Torres winery, Altos Ibericos where ‘Altos’ means high and ‘Iberian’ refers to the Spanish culture, cuisine, and geography, simply the highest of Spanish food, wine and culture. A delicious drinking wine with all the hallmarks of Tempranillo (100%), from vineyards in La Rioja Alavesa, Labastida. Crianza is an early drinking style where the wine has been aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels and then a further 6 months in bottle before release. The perfect wine for all occasions that everyone will love, made for all those BBQ’s this coming summer, or grab a bottle and head to your local BYO.
Smells
a plethora of wild, red berries, forest floor, milk chocolate notes, sandalwood with nuances of rosemary and cedar with dark baking spice.
Tastes
A rustic, chewy palate structure, yet with juicy mid-palate fruit weight to balance. The tannins cling to the cheeks giving a salivating, moreish texture, making a second sip irresistible. There is a wonderful combination of flavours, lots of red berry fruits interwoven with a savoury, earthy and forest floor complexity. Perfect drinking now through 2026+. For optimal drinking pleasure, the recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
