Description
A few years ago, Guy McMasters took the helm at Palliser Estate, succeeding Allan Johnson. Now, after several vintages, it’s clear that Guy is honouring the estate’s legacy while adding his own distinctive touch. True to the house style, this wine is beautifully elegant—a true Martinborough icon exuding gentle poise and youthful finesse. As one of New Zealand’s most reliable Pinot Noirs, Palliser Estate is a must-have for your cellar, yet it remains wonderfully approachable right now.
Smells
Cherry and dried thyme with floral and smoky notes competing to outdo each other.
Tastes
Fine and savoury on the palate, dark cherry, spice, and dried herbs, with fine tea leaf tannin that lends a supple, silky mouthfeel. The wine finishes with crisp acidity and a long length. It is drinking superbly now but will continue to develop up until 2028. Enjoy with Chinese roast duck. The recommended serving temperature is 13-15 degrees.
