Description
A brand on the rise, Summerhouse is a family-owned winery that has largely been a darling of the London wine scene. In NZ we are just discovering this hidden gem, under the watchful eye of the talented Sam Harrop MW, they craft some impressive and very appealing wines. Stylistically this is very approachable and will become a favourite any day of the week, especially considering its modest price tag, essentially in these touch economic times.
Smells
Sweet bramble fruits with inviting spicy tones.
Tastes
A juicy Pinot with ripe, dark cherry fruits, fleshy black plums, and a thread of fine raspberry. Darker layers of spices and a hint of cocoa underpin what is a very attractive and appealing Central Otago Pinot Noir, from the superb 2021 vintage. A brand-new release, it is drinking well right off the bat and will continue to impress for the next 3-4 years. Serve with pork or duck and for optimal drinking pleasure serve between 13-15 degrees.
