And this is a wonderful expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz in all its finery, true to form with its earthy, complex, and savoury aromas.
Smells
ripe cherries, raspberry, and vanilla on the aroma with exotic spice and mellow oak.
Tastes
A deep, inky purple shiraz with flavours of ripe plums, blackberry, bramble, dark chocolate, coffee, toast, and hints of peppercorns. A weighty wine with a dense core of fruit with fine grain tannins, a wine that exhibits the savoury complexity and more linear palate structure inherent to the McLaren. A tightly woven wine throughout, yet rich, unctuous and balanced. A wine that will age gracefully 6-8years+ in a temperature-controlled cellar. Serve with roasted red meats. For optimal drinking pleasure, the recommended serving temperature is 16-18 degrees.
