The Toi Toi is a flowering native grass and an iconic part of NZ’s landscape from the mountains to the ocean. Majestic and adaptable, it expresses itself distinctively across our country. This is the inspiration for the Toi Toi Lifestyle range of wines, crafted from NZ’s best grape growing regions. Hawke’s Bay 2020 was a superb vintage, yes it was the beginning of Covid lockdowns but luckily the grapes were redeemed essential, and of course we wholeheartedly agree. And this everyday Syrah, truly expresses how good it all turned out in the end.
Smells
lifted berry aromas with red plums, milk chocolate and spice.
Tastes
a lighter style with juicy fruit, but a wine where the tannins for a fine, feathery backbone which give a little grip with each sip. Not a wine that requires a lot of contemplation, rather all you need is a wine glass, a veranda and a friend, to whittle the evening away. Drinking well now and perfect with cheese, or light up the BBQ and throw on some ribs.
