Description
Undiscovered miracles are one thing but then a museum release of an undiscovered miracle is simply out of this world. This means a wine you have maybe never heard of, being available at an age for perfect drinking. Surely this means gods exist. Catena Zapata Adrianna vineyard is one of the most prized vineyards in all of Argentina, it is located at almost 1500m high in the Gualtallary sub-district of the Tupungato region. The rocky soil prevents deep root growth and allows for ideal drainage conditions. These are very poor soils where the vines are constantly in conditions of stress. The cool nights allow for very slow ripening, optimal acid retention and low yields. White Stones Chardonnay comes from a select 27 rows within Block 1 of the Adrianna Vineyard. The name refers to the ground beneath the vines which are covered with gravel - oval white stones. White Stones is more restrained and austere than its sister White Bones. On top of this a majestic wine with bottle age. This is a present for Christmas, like no other…
Smells
a bouquet littered with complexity, aromas of wet stones, citrus notes of lemons and limes with added diversity of white flowers and pie dough.
Tastes
The palate has a fullness yet with minerality, wet concrete and stone flavours with hints of restrained green fruits and a mineral electricity. Simply stunning and a wine that will engage for years to come. Serve with fine white meats. The recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
