Description
Crafted by the 6th-generation Bogle family in the fertile lands of Clarksburg, Twenty Acres is a tribute to the original plot of land that began the Bogle legacy. It delivers a more refined and expressive tier of Bogle, showcasing the nuanced terroir of their estate vineyards while maintaining the hallmark generosity, richness and approachability Bogle is famous for. The 2023 Twenty Acres Chardonnay is fermented and & aged on lees for 12 months in 28% new French oak & 61% one-year-old American oak. The remaining 11% component is aged in stainless steel and includes Chenin Blanc, providing a fresh edge to the power of the predominantly French Oak aged Chardonnay. Luxurious and Buttery in the Bogle way but tempered with fruit purity and defining elegance. Stylish BOGLE drinking – delicious now, will develop greater richness through 2027/8.
Smells
The bouquet is layered and draws you in with lifted aromas of ripe peach, golden apple, lemon blossom, vanilla bean, buttered popcorn and toasted hazelnut.
Tastes
Luxurious but nicely balanced throughout the palate, which is layered with Golden peach, baked apple, vanilla custard, brioche, and buttered popcorn… yum! The silky textural mouthfeel is perfectly contrasted by gently salivating acidity. Endearing hints of cinnamon, nutmeg & lemon curd provide additional delight and complexity. Enjoy now through to 2027/8 with roast chicken, soft cheese… and save a glass or two for pure indulgence.
