Description
One of the legendary NZ Chardonnay vineyards, alongside Riflemans, Craighall and Neudorf's Home Block. Keltern Chardonnay is always smoky and flinty in character, but this 2018 is perhaps even more generously fruited than usual, showcasing the excellence of Hawke's Bay’s elite single vineyard Chardonnay from the vintage.
Smells
The classic Keltern nose, showing toast, fig, citrus, spicy oak, flint and stonefruit. Harmonious and sophisticated.
Tastes
Creamy, biscuity and refined, stony mineral nuances give an exhilarating lift to the palate, toasty oak giving great support to the nectarine and pink grapefruit core. Awesome as a young wine, demand always exceeds supply, so don't expect to be able to pick up an aged vintage on the shelf.
