Description

The Soave region has long been known for producing light, fruity, and dry white wines—perfect for easy, everyday enjoyment. But a new wave is sweeping through Soave, one that embraces a richer, more concentrated style. Cantina di Monteforte is a standout example of this trend. Crafted from Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave grapes (good luck pronouncing the first one!), this wine reflects a shift toward depth and complexity. Lower yields in the vineyard have led to greater intensity in the glass. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness, the wine also showcases the distinctive oily texture imparted by the region’s soils and grape varieties.

Smells

Rich bouquet with notes of hawthorn, elderflower and violets , with hints of dried hay, roasted fennel, and orange zest.

Tastes

the palate is rich and full, with good concentration and a long, bittersweet almond finish that perfectly contrasts the oily palate. Similar dried herb, almond and fine citrus flavours thread the palate with a salivating, yet creamy texture. This is one of the most exciting and intriguing Soave’s that we have tried. If you have not had one before then start right here. You won’t be disappointed. Ideal with antipasti and pasta with Mediterranean-style sauces, fish, and soup over the next year or two. The recommended serving temperature is 8-10 degrees.
