Description
There is a first for everything and this is the first Organic Grower Cava made in a Pet Nat style to come across the Fine Wine tasting teams table, well today makes it the second as this is their second delivery to our fine shelves. A funky, dynamic label made in a modern, minimal intervention style, offering intrigue, especially for those attracted to cult producers. Ramon Jane’s family have grown grapes in Penedes for generations. In 2006 they produced an organic grower Cava and went fully Natural in 2016, making a Pet Nat style from native varieties, wild fermentations and bottled without any additives, including no sulphur or filtration.
Smells
a complex bouquet underpinned by green apples, pears, and lemon zest with cedar, chalk dust and roasted fennel notes intertwined.
Tastes
the palate is zippy and lively with green fruits, and grapefruit leading into seaweed and salty notes and a touch of salted black liquorice on the finish. A complex, dynamic wine that’s interesting and compelling on many levels. This is one for wine options, we doubt anyone would guess this. Perfect drinking now with cured meats, cheese or shellfish.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
