Description
This beautifully crafted Pinot Gris is a shining example of Marlborough’s class—an elegant blend of fruit from the Rapaura and Awatere sub-regions, brought together in a dry, fleshy style that delivers pure satisfaction in every sip. A short stint of three months on light lees has added a lovely layer of nutty, biscuity complexity that complements the wine’s exotic stone fruit, pear and crisp apple notes. The result? A Pinot Gris that’s uncomplicated yet totally rewarding, striking the perfect balance between fruit expression and texture. Recently awarded 4 Stars in Cuisine Magazine, this is a wine to enjoy now or over the coming year. Chill it down, pour generously, and savour with good food or even better company.
Smells
Fragrant rose petal and baking spices, with red gala apples, nashi pears and quince.
Tastes
Crisp and dry to taste, the mid-palate fattens out with loads of ripe tree fruits, a nutty, mineral aspect driving the long finish. Textbook Pinot Gris as we've come to expect, it will be best with lightly spiced Asian cuisine between now and 2027. The recommended serving temperature is 6-8 degrees.
