Description
The working man's cocktail, invented in Italy in the 18th century when there was widespread poverty. Tagliatella literally means "a little bit of everything" and comes from the way the distilleries used to catch all the drippings from the copper containers and then throw it all into a barrel. This was what the working people drank, and the spirit lives on in this Tagliatella from the iconic Nardini family (who have graciously let John Kirwan co-brand his name with theirs). The ingredients are grappa, cherry distillate, bitter orange, herbs and spices, giving a complex and sensationally flavoursome liqueur. JK's tip is to enjoy it with 40ml Tagliatella 20ml ginger beer, with a lemon zest and cherry garnish over ice.
Smells
an intense floral and fruity bouquet balanced by herbal and spicy aromas.
Tastes
predominant red cherry flavours with the same floral, fruity, herbal and spicy notes found in the aroma flowing through on the palate, with a pleasantly bitter-sweet finish.
